"Tico" is what Costa Ricans call themselves as a term of endearment. More formally, a Costa Rican is referred to as "Costarricense" or "Costarriqueño". My Tico friends are some of the best people I have ever met.
When I think of Costa Rica, I think of my summer spent in San Jose learning Spanish. It was rainy season when I went, but still an amazing place given the energy. Along with my classmates, we visited the rainforests, untouched beaches, as well spent a memorable weekend near Arenal, which was an active volcano. The energy you could feel from the green foliage everywhere truly fed my soul.
There really is something pure to Costa Rica. When you visit you'll understand what they mean when they say:
